The Largely Inconsequential, but Supposed to be There Stuff...
I hate this bit. I guess i'm expected to eulogise over what I do... The facts are.. I'm a designer / brand strategist type by day and a photographer by night. In design, I work with lots of people you'd know and a fair few you wouldn't, some of whom are very high profile, others of whom are very creative, and occasionally, some people who are both. I'm fine with either, I prefer to be creative, but while it might always fuel the mind, it doesn't always fuel the oven..
I work in new media; basically, I make other people money... I earn mine by making other people more than they pay me - it's a simple formula really, and one that's often forgotten both client and agency side. I design with purpose, I do nothing without a reason, proper measurement and rationale.
As for my photography, that's pretty much the opposite, I shoot art house fashion for a few mags and test what i feel like, when i feel like it. I don't rely on it, which is nice. The up shot of that is I'm not likely to be talked into shooting what you want me to shoot, unless you're armed with an unbelievable look and a massive opportunity. However, if you're recognised agency, can act a bit and like to arse about with submissions, I'm your go-to guy. We have a studio in Stourbridge, by we I mean my wife and I. It's a converted cornmill and very beautiful. The studio is open for commercial, portraits, product and all that.. you can find out more by clicking the following link cornmill studios.
Most of the work I'm shooting at the moment I can't show because of publication commitments, but I'll happily email it to you if you want to see what I'm doing. I'm currently submitting / contributing editorial to a variety of fashion periodicals. I shoot boys and girls and test for a number of agencies.
